English Language Proficiency Assessment (Mandatory)
About English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA)
The English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA) is a compulsory test for
- Local students with sub-degree qualifications
- Students pre-registered into LANG 1002 (I-stream)
The ELPA test will be held online and consists of two parts:
- an 8-minute Speaking test
- a 1 hr 40 min written test of Reading, Vocabulary and Writing
For students with sub-degree qualifications, it is important that both parts of the test are taken so that their results can be used to place them in the right Year 1 English course.
For students enrolled in LANG 1002 (I-stream), results are needed so instructors can give feedback and advice to improve as they complete their Year 1 studies.
